General Description:

CIAO is a 50 foot, one of a kind, raised pilot house trawler designed by Ed Monk Sr. In 1965 Mr. Monk designed a boat for he and his wife to cruise on and this is that design. The hull was laid in 1970 and the vessel was completed in 1974 for F.R. Smith, Clinton, Conn. Mr. Smith hand selected the 5/4 Alaskan cedar planks and white oak keel. Upon completion, she was stored, in freshwater under cover, for 28 years. To quote the original surveyor Mr. Robert Gunther of G-B Marine Services, This vessel is built to the highest standards at the time in the marine industry. When we purchased the boat from the second owner she had 800 hours on her. We have lived aboard/cruised for the past 5 years and the boat now has 1500 hours. During our travels we took first place at the Madisonville Wooden Boat Festival in 2004. After cruising the East coast and Gulf of Mexico we would now like to continue our travels in a land yacht. This vessel is in like new condition and ready to cruise and /or live aboard. I know all boats are listed as "turnkey ready to cruise". This one is really ready. Survey, at the buyers expense, is welcome. The boat is currently in Nashville, TN. on the Cumberland river.
Would consider trade for diesel pusher motor home.
